About the Creature Preserve

The Moss and Moonshine Menagerie is a Nature Preserve dedicated to housing wayward magical creatures, and educating the public on their care. Our Preserve is home to many different habitats, allowing a wide variety of creatures from climates all over the world to reside within its walls. Our primary focus however, is the preservation of the Magical species, which is best achieved through partnerships with humans ready to take on the challenge of caring for these special creatures in a domestic setting.

If you want to learn a bit about Caring for Magical Creatures, you can check out our ever-evolving CREATURE GUIDE to see what kinds of Creatures we are currently working with. And if you feel ready to take on the challenge of caring for a creature of your own, adoptable creatures can be found on our SHOP PAGE.

About the Art

Stefani MacLeod is a southern California based multimedia sculptor who has specialized in making artdolls since 2011. All creature dolls are made using molds of 100 percent original sculptures. The body parts are cast in urethane resin, hand painted and sealed using acrylics, and attached to faux fur bodies. No organic materials go into the making of my dolls (no animal products used). Most dolls have either a wire or plastic armature/skeleton inside to allow for light posing and interactive play.

Because each doll is a handmade work of art, dolls are released in small batches depending on my time availability to create them. You can purchase dolls during a CREATURE RELEASE. I recommend following my instagram page or signing up for my newsletter for regular updates on when creature releases are scheduled.

Not all doll designs are available at all times, and some are LIMITED EDITION which means they will not be made again after being released. Feel free to CONTACT ME if you have any questions about releases or when/if a design will be coming back!
